Wolves hunt their prey in the Rocky Mountains of North America, the Arctic tundra, the mountains and forests of Europe and the deserts and steppes of Central Asia. They provide them with meat and nutrient-rich offal, but also with vegetables, fruits, berries, roots and herbs via the stomach contents of the prey. Grain is not included here. This is how the wolf gets the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes and secondary plant substances it needs. As the wolf is the ancestor of all dogs, our Wolfsblut dry dog food is modelled on the wolf's natural eating habits. It contains lots of meat or fish combined with superfoods that contain valuable ingredients - just like in nature, without any grain. Our selection of exceptional meats and nutrient-rich superfoods is based on the wolf's habitat and the colourful diversity of its diet. Wolfsblut offers every dog a species-appropriate and original diet and with its variety of flavours, there is something to suit everyone. The recipe for WIDE PLAIN ACTIVE dry food combines the wolf's diet with the latest scientific findings on proper dog nutrition.

The individual ingredients of WIDE PLAIN ACTIVE were compiled together with veterinarians to match the wolf's natural diet and the findings on holistic dog nutrition. This makes Wolfsblut's dry food unique.

  • Sweet potatoes: According to the American health authority CSPI, they are one of the most nutritious vegetables due to their valuable fibre and high beta-carotene and vitamin E content.
  • Pumpkin: It is one of the lowest-calorie vegetables and is rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, minerals and phytosterols. The fibre it contains makes it very digestible and aids digestion.
  • Jerusalem artichoke: It contains a high proportion of inulin, which has a prebiotic effect and stimulates the growth of healthy bacterial strains in the gut. A healthy intestinal flora has a positive effect on the immune system.
  • Blackberries: These berries are particularly high in magnesium and iron. With their provitamin A and vitamin E content, blackberries also outperform their native relatives.
  • Elderberries: In addition to anthocyanins, the black-blue berries contain a lot of vitamin C and folic acid. The colouring sambucyanin they contain is also said to have an anti-inflammatory effect.
  • Aronia berries: Aronia contains large amounts of plant substances that are said to have particular health benefits, such as flavonoids and phenolic acid.
  • Linseed: The fibre and mucilage in the small seeds have a positive effect on digestion and have a high content of polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acids.
  • Dandelion: It is rich in minerals such as magnesium, folic acid, manganese and vitamin K. This vitamin plays an important role in blood clotting.
  • Fennel: It is rich in essential oils that are beneficial for digestion and the intestines. It also contains vital substances such as potassium, vitamin A, folic acid, vitamin C and silicic acid.
